You can have PrivateFolio upload your confidential letter of recommendation to an application portal by providing the unique email address that we assign to a letter as the contact email for your recommender.  


Application portals generally ask for the email address of your recommender in order to send them a request to upload your letter. Instead of providing the actual email address you may provide them the unique email address that corresponds to the recommendation letter that you have on file. (Note that AMCAS uses a different system. If you need to send a letter to AMCAS, please follow these instructions.)


The application portal will send an invitation to upload your letter to that unique PrivateFolio email address, and PrivateFolio will upload the corresponding letter on you behalf once you approve.


Here's where you can find the unique email address of your letters:


1. Log-in to your Private Folio account.

2. Go to Rec Letters.

3. On the left panel click on Letters on File.


 

4. The application system you provide the unique email address will request a recommendation letter from PrivateFolio. You will receive an email notification asking you to approve payment for the upload.


5. Log-in to your PrivateFolio account and click on Payment Required which will be visible in the upper left-hand corner of the page.


9. Click the checkmark to approve payment ($2) using the funds in your account balance. If you don't have funds available, click the credit card icon to pay by credit card.


You're all set! PrivateFolio will upload the letter on your behalf and you will receive a confirmation email when the upload is completed. Most uploads are processed the same day they are approved.
